Suthins Workshop Below are before and after pictures/descriptions of trees from Suthin's Workshop. Please vist our site weekly for all new workshop photos! Shohin Japanese Black Pine Japanese Black Pine Before When acquired this Japanese Black Pine, the tree was approximately 22 inches tall. The tree was unproportional, the trunk was too small and the tree was too tall. The best solution was to make a shohin out of it and it is also my favorite size. Picture on the right side is what the tree will become after eliminate all the unnecessary branches.  click on image to enlarge Japanese Black Pine After 3 years later, here is what the plant looks like. Tree height is 8 inches!!!! In my opinion, the tree needs a few more year to achieve its best look.  click on image to enlarge |
